There is a moment, every single day, when the Viana coastline turns the colour of honey. The dunes light up, the sea turns silver and everything slows down — even the horses seem to know.

The sunset ride follows the coastal trail between Areosa and the wild beaches to the north, at the precise moment the light is at its most beautiful. It is the favourite ride of couples, photographers and anyone who wants to end a day of travelling on a high note.

How it works

We meet in the late afternoon at the equestrian centre — the start time shifts with the season, so we catch golden hour at its peak. After the usual preparation (a horse suited to you, helmet, basic instructions), we head for the coast.

At the most beautiful point of the trail we pause: this is photo time, with the sun dropping into the Atlantic. The ride back unfolds at dusk, in a silence nobody wants to break.

It depends on the time of year — we always set off around 1h30 before sunset, so we catch the golden light on the beach. We confirm the exact time when you book.

Can I bring my phone or camera?

Yes, as long as it is in a zipped pocket or bag. Our guide also takes photos of the group — the best one is on us.
